Power Electronics offers a high-demand, future-proof career focused on driving sustainability through efficient energy conversion having immense applications in renewable energy, electric vehicles(EVs) and other industrial applications. It demands a deep understanding of Power electronic components, magnetics, control systems and the thermal behaviour of the power circuit.

ITEL Foundation, in partnership with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) launches the Power Electronics Finishing School at three IITs across the country - IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras.

Methodology

Lectures by IIT faculty with extensive directed learning and project-based activities

Eligibility Criteria

BE/ BTech degree related to Electrical Engineering
Fresh graduates/ professionals with up to 2 years of relevant experience

Learn and Master

During the course, students will be exposed to:

Process of analysis of power converters towards design - electric and thermal
Power electronic circuit components from a design perspective
Software tools for power electronics circuit design
Principles of control system analysis and design
Principles of driving the devices
Principles of Embedded Controllers/ Control
PCB Design and Hardware Implementation of the system
